Last year

EditorialThis is a short portfolio into my work. I’m a freelance photographer based in London. My style of photography is very much documentary with a twist of art. My commissions have included feature stories and portraits for a volume of European magazines, editorial work for various newspapers, documentary work for opera companies such as the Royal Opera House, corporate portraits, PR and events. Gallery 1 shows images from the G20 protest at the City, London, 1st April 2009. Gallery 2 contains editorial portraits from various events. Gallery 3 shows dance and opera production rehearsals and workshops between 1998 and 2006. Gallery 4 features my personal project, images of children in Uganda 2002, with thanks to Uganda Society of Disabled Children.

PortraitsThis section features a selection of my commissioned and personal portraits. Gallery 1 features corporate portraits. Gallery 2 contains images from various interviews. Gallery 3 has portraits of musicians. Gallery 4 shows images from a father's day picnic 2009 and gallery 5 has summer portraits.

FeaturesHere you can find a few sample galleries of commissioned feature stories. Gallery 1 contains images of trade professions; builders and wood manufacturers. Gallery 2 features London Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 1, commissioned by Rautaruukki. Gallery 3 portraits Michelin Star restaurant Chiefs. We have years of experience as professional photographers. Although we work fully digitally, we both have strong darkroom knowledge behind us, both from colour and black&white. My commissions ranges from feature stories for European newspapers and magazines, to corporate portraits, PR, events and private commissions. My professional career began in 1998, after graduating from the BA (Hons) Photography in the Arts course at Swansea University. I also studied MA at University of Westminster's Photographic Studies course in 2004. I was awarded an ABPPA by the British Professional Photographer’s Association in 2004. I have had numerous solo and group exhibitions in the UK and Finland, where I come from, since 1995.Richard has a long history of working within the photographic industry, both within management, and as a photographer. Currently Richard is working as Digital Manager and Lecturer in Photofusion.org. For the last few years he has also been a guest speaker at the Rhubarb-Rhubarb events.
